Arsenal lodge bid for Bayern star and are awaiting response
Reports from Germany (via Bild) claim Arsenal have lodged a bid for Bayern Munich right-back Rafinha, and are willing to offer the Brazilian a three year deal. We certainly need a right-back this summer, as with Mathieu Debuchy's departure in January we're really lacking options. Calum Chambers is the only real back-up we have for Hector Bellerin, and he's really not up to the standard we need. The fact that Bellerin is currently unquestionably our first-choice means we need to sign someone able to play back-up rather than first-choice, so a player in the twilight of his career yet still able to perform is ideal.
