Luis Suarez Admits Coming Close To Joining Arsenal
It has been reported that Barcelona striker Luis Suarez admits he was close to joining Champions League opponents Arsenal. He has revealed that it was a training-ground chat with his Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard that persuaded the Uruguayan striker to head for the Nou Camp rather than the Emirates. 'Arsenal's interest in me was very public,' said Suarez. 'I don't think it is any secret. 'I had a private conversation with Stevie after training, and he told me to give Liverpool another season, and wait for Barcelona. 'Looking back now it is one of the most important conversations of my life, but that is Stevie, he was a captain who was always ready to give his players advice.'
