Yaya Toure: 'Arsenal Invincibles will never be matched'

Yaya Toure says that the Arsenal Invincibles team of 2003-04 will never be matched.

Yaya Toure has said that no team will ever again go unbeaten in a Premier League season.

The Arsenal Invincibles team of 2003-04 were the first team to finish the season unbeaten since Preston North End in the 1880s, and no team has matched the feat since.

"The Premier League is always improving and you see how the big clubs invest in players for a lot of money and this sequence in football – the Invincibles – it will never happen again in the Premier League," Toure told reporters.

"All the teams are spending money, buying big players. Like West Ham, even Leicester, Stoke spending on players from Barcelona. You can understand how the Premier League is so competitive because all the players want to come to England and want to improve, and want to play well. You are not surprised to see Chelsea losing at home to Crystal Palace. It's difficult, the Premier League."

Manchester City lost their unbeaten record this season after a 2-1 loss to West Ham United last weekend.
