Arsenal, Crystal Palace 'close to agreeing Calum Chambers deal'
Crystal Palace have reportedly made progress in their attempts to sign Calum Chambers from Arsenal this summer. The Eagles are understood to have seen a £16m offer rejected for the defender earlier this summer, with the Gunners valuing Chambers at closer to £25m. However, The Guardian reports that the two clubs remain optimistic that an agreement can be reached over a permanent transfer, with Palace having also considered a loan move for the 22-year-old. Chambers spent last season out on loan at Middlesbrough, where he made 24 Premier League appearances but failed to prevent the club from being relegated to the Championship.
