Arsenal close to signing Argentine kid…supposedly
According to reports in Argentina and Spain, Arsenal are close to a deal for Argentine prospect Maximiliano Romero. The 16-year-old, who has yet to make his league debut for club Velez Sarsfield, is apparently the subject of a 6 million deal that would see him stay in Buenos Aires for two years to continue his development. Arseblog News isn't convinced in the slightest by the story, despite quotes from the player, his agent and the club's president. Romero says of his impending big-money contract: 'Talks with Arsenal are at an advanced stage. It is an immense joy that has appeared in my life. We must begin to learn English.'
