Jamie Carragher: Raheem Sterling would only be a BENCHWARMER at Arsenal
The England winger admitted on Wednesday that he was 'flattered' to learn of Arsenal's recent interest in his services, just four days before the Reds crucial trip to the Emirates. However, Carragher believes the 'naive' 20-year-old would struggle for game time under Arsene Wenger due to the level of competition for places. The Gunners have been credited with an interest in Sterling after he turned down a reported £100,000-a-week contract at Anfield. "First, he was desperately naive to say such a thing on the eve of such a crucial game," Carragher wrote on the Daily Mail.
