Wenger Admits He Was Interested In Signing Top Striker
Arsene Wenger has admitted he was interested in signing Romelu Lukaku before he moved to Chelsea in 2011. The Belgium international spent three years at Stamford Bridge but failed to force his way into the first team and subsequently moved to Everton in 2014. Lukaku has been a huge success at Goodison Park and notched his 50th goal for the club back in October in a 2-0 win over West Ham. The striker already has nine goals for the season, behind only Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero in the Premier League and Arsenal will be hoping he does not add to his tally against the Gunners.
