Mustafi Signing Key in Ozil Contract Negotiations
It appears Shkodran Mustafi was not only brought on to keep Arsenal's defense intact, but to protect the club from losing one of their biggest stars. This is according to a report by the Mirror which claims that the Gunners are hoping that their new defensive acquisition will help convince Mesut Ozil to stay. The German playmaker has only two years remaining on his deal, meaning the north London outfit risk facing a dilemma between two choices next summer should he fail to sign an extension by then: cash in on him or let him walk away for nothing in 2018.
