Wenger: Messi? Ronaldo? The Ballon d'Or is rubbish
Arsene Wenger has criticised the Ballon d'Or for ‘encouraging selfishness' after asked of his opinion on Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both Messi and Ronaldo, along with every other footballer who has ever walked the Earth, were close to joining Arsenal at one stage, and Wenger was asked who he prefers as debate rages on over the world's two best players. 'He is the best player in the world – with Messi,' Wenger said. 'Messi has a little advantage on assists. 'But I would go for nobody because it is not my problem at the moment.'
