Reports - Schalke to battle Arsenal for Real Madrid man
Schalke are ready to battle Arsenal for the signature of Sami Khedira, according to reports in Germany. The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and he is still yet to sign a new deal with Real Madrid. That has alerted several sides, who are eager to snap up the midfielder on a free transfer in the summer. Arsenal were chasing Khedira throughout 2014, while Chelsea were also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation. However now, according to Bild, Schalke are plotting a move which will bring the 27-year-old back to Germany. The Bundesliga side are willing to offer Khedira a long-term deal in attempt to beat off interest from the Premier League.
