The league table never lies. A true statement if there are 38 games played. After just seven, though, it’s apt to tell a few porkies. With its cheeky attempt to be misleading it gets some fans glum and others giddy. Chelsea fans needn’t be disheartened and Manchester United supporters up the road in Kent should take a minute to calm down. There are a few probabilities that you don’t need a league table to work out. The most glaringly obvious is that Chelsea are currently falsely placed down in fifteenth.
