N FC's Gab Marcotti believes that Karim Benzema will play a central role in opening up the game for the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo this season. Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema says there was never any danger of him leaving for Arsenal this summer. There were persistent rumours throughout the transfer window that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger would be able to tempt Benzema, 27, into a move to London.
