Vieira admits Wenger replacement talk is ‘good' for ‘ego'

Patrick Vieira admits it is an 'ego' boost to be linked with replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager. Arsenal announced on Friday morning that the 22-year tenure of Wenger in north London will end this summer. A number of managers have been rumoured to replace the Frenchman, from Carlo Ancelotti to Brendan Rodgers. A slew of former players with scant managerial experience are also on an apparent shortlist, including Thierry Henry and Mikel Arteta. But New York City FC manager Vieira admits that while he is 'flattered' to be targeted, the opportunity may have come too soon.
